NYC man found dead in jewelry store bathroom with zip ties around neck

NEW YORK — Detectives are investigating the death of a man whose body was found inside the bathroom of a jewelry store in downtown Manhattan, reports CBS New York.

Police identified the man as 43-year-old Omid Gholian from Marine Park, Brooklyn.

Gholian, an employee of World of Gold N Diamond, was found by his brother around 6 p.m. Wednesday with zip ties around his neck.

His death is reportedly being ruled as suspicious and homicide detectives are investigating. Detectives are looking for security footage from inside and outside the store, which did not appear to be ransacked.

The station also reports that there are no signs of forced entry or missing inventory at the store, and detectives are investigating whether the death was a robbery gone wrong or if Gholian was the intended target.

The medical examiner will determine the exact cause of death.
