NY man sentenced for killing his girlfriend and her son, 7

BUFFALO, N.Y. - A western New York man has been sentenced for killing his 30-year-old girlfriend and her 7-year-old son in their suburban Buffalo apartment last year.

The Erie County District Attorney's Office says 31-year-old Shane Stevenson, of Cheektowaga, was sentenced Wednesday in state Supreme Court in Buffalo to 50 years to life in prison for killing Raina Voll and Leo Klinger.

Authorities say Stevenson strangled the mother and son inside their Cheektowaga apartment during an argument last Sept. 15. Their bodies were discovered after Voll's 2-year-old child was found unharmed in a stroller at the apartment complex.

Stevenson pleaded guilty in March to two counts of second-degree murder.
