New "Gone Girl" trailer premieres during Emmys

"Gone Girl" had a new trailer premiere during Monday night's Emmy Awards, giving a better picture of how director David Fincher has adapted Gillian Flynn's best-selling novel for the big screen.

The teaser shows scenes from the first time Amy (Rosamund Pike) and Nick Dunne (Ben Affleck) meet, during which Nick says, "I'm the guy to save you... from all this awesomeness."

That pivots to Amy's voiceover: "The man of my dreams...this man of mine may truly kill me." The attention then shifts to police honing in on Nick as a potential suspect in Amy's disappearance.

"Gone Girl" will premiere at the New York Film Festival next month before hitting theaters on Oct. 3. It also stars Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry and Kim Dickens.
