Netflix postpones Bill Cosby comedy special

Netflix says it is postponing the debut of its Bill Cosby comedy special.

The streaming service said Monday that "Bill Cosby 77," which was filmed in front of a live audience back in July, will no longer premiere as scheduled on the day after Thanksgiving.

Model claims Bill Cosby sexually assaulted her in 1982

A reason wasn't given for the postponement, but it comes amid repeated allegations of sexual assault against the 77-year-old comedian, including a new accusation from former supermodel Janice Dickinson. In an interview with "Entertainment Tonight," Dickinson claimed Cosby raped her in 1982.

Multiple women have accused Cosby of sexual misconduct over the years, but the allegations received renewed media attention in recent weeks after a video of comedian Hannibal Buress calling Cosby a rapist during a stand-up show went viral.

Cosby has not publicly commented on the accusations, but last week his lawyer dismissed the "decade-old, discredited allegations" in a statement, saying, "Mr. Cosby does not intend to dignify these allegations with any comment. He would like to thank all his fans for the outpouring of support and assure them that, at age 77, he is doing his best work. There will be no further statement from Mr. Cosby or any of his representatives."

In a statement to "CBS This Morning," Cosby's publicist said he was in agreement with the Netflix decision. The comedian also has a planned sitcom in development at NBC, but the network has not yet commented on its status.
