Neil deGrasse Tyson is happy "The Daily Show" fixed Earth's rotation

As the new host of the "Daily Show," Trevor Noah has turned the Earth on its axis -- literally.

Well, not the real Earth, but the Earth in the opening credits of the show.

Most fans would not notice, but eagle-eyed astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson certainly did, and he was happy.

"Congratulations to @TrevorNoah tonight. @TheDailyShow's new opening credits now show Earth rotating in the correct direction," wrote the cosmologist.

The Earth on Jon Stewart's "Daily Show" used to turn clockwise; Noah's Earth turns counterclockwise.

As a guest on the "Daily Show," deGrasse Tyson informed Stewart that the opening credits were inaccurate.

"Can I tell you something quick?" asked deGrasse Tyson. "The beginning of your program? The Earth is spinning in the wrong direction. I'm sorry. I had to get that off my chest."

The opening credits did change back to the correct rotational direction briefly, but then reverted to the clockwise rotation.
