"CBS This Morning" to broadcast live from Smithsonian's new African American museum

“CBS This Morning” will broadcast live from the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington D.C. Monday, Sept. 12, becoming the first media outlet to broadcast live from the museum prior to its public opening on Sept. 24.

Get an exclusive first look at the nation’s first national museum devoted exclusively to the documentation of African American life, history and culture. Broadcasting outside the museum against the backdrop of the Washington Monument as well as inside, co-hosts Charlie Rose, Gayle King and Norah O’Donnell will take viewers on an intimate tour of the museum, joined by historians, curators and donors who helped make it possible, including the museum’s director, Lonnie Bunch. They will also be joined by other special guests.

Mark your calendars and join us for the special broadcast, with limited commercial interruptions on Sept. 12, 7 am. ET.
