Police respond to gunshot victim at Vanderbilt University

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A man suffering from a gunshot wound was found on the campus of Vanderbilt University after a shooting at a motel, CBS Nashville affiliate WTVF reports.

Police officials told the station the victim was found Thursday morning near the Owen Graduate School of Business.

According to police, the victim may have been shot at a La Quinta Inn.

He somehow showed up on campus and alerted police that he'd been shot.

Detectives were working to get surveillance video from the area to determine if the victim was driven to the scene.

Authorities were working with Vanderbilt Campus Police.

The man's injuries were said to be non-life threatening.
