"Mugshot McDreamy" sentenced to prison

STOCKTON, Calif. - Jeremy Meeks, whose attractive mugshot went viral following his arrest on felony weapons charges, has been sentenced to more than two years in prison.

Meeks was sentenced Thursday in federal court to 27 months in prison after being convicted of one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to CBS Sacramento.

He was also ordered to participate in a substance abuse treatment program and pay a $100 fine.

Meeks gained notoriety in June 2014 after his mugshot, which was posted to the Stockton Police Department Facebook page, went viral. The photo, which captured Meeks in a model-esque pose, inspired nicknames such as "Mugshot McDreamy" and internet hashtags such as #FelonCrushFriday.

Stockton Police never took the photo down. As of Thursday, it had garnered 101,944 likes, 12,836 shares and 26,695 comments, reports the station.

The photo even reportedly earned Meeks a modeling contract with a Santa Monica-based agency.
