Mother's corpse found at home, teen son a suspect

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas -- A 15-year-old boy is a suspect in the death of his mother, whose decomposing body was found at their home Thursday afternoon, reports CBS affiliate KZTV.

Corpus Christi police found the victim's body after a neighbor reported a foul smell coming from the home.

The medical examiner has not yet determined a cause of death, but the case is being treated as a homicide, police said.

Her son is in the hospital for "injuries he suffered prior to law enforcement contact," according to police.

The identities of the victim and suspect have not been released.
