Mother and daughter arrested for injecting heroin in car with baby in backseat

PITTSBURGH - A mother and daughter were arrested after they were found shooting up heroin in a parked car, with a six-month-old baby in the backseat, CBS Pittsburgh reported.

Police also say the baby had a dirty diaper and the car seat wasn't secured.

Karen Gillespie, 43, and her daughter Courtney Jording, were reportedly caught injecting themselves by a Children and Youth Services worker who happened to be walking by the car Wednesday.

Police say they also found 41 stamp bags of heroin, 16 empty bags, 4 syringes and two spoons, the station reported.

Both women were charged on multiple drug counts, criminal conspiracy and endangering the welfare of a child.

They were taken to the Westmoreland County Jail.
