Mom tosses baby from balcony to escape apartment fire
HARRIS COUNTY, Texas - At least 10 people were hospitalized after an apartment fire early Wednesday in Houston, CBS affiliate KHOU reports.
The two-alarm fire broke out at the Villages of Copperfield Apartment homes in northwest Harris County and firefighters were still battling the blaze as of 5:00 a.m., the station reported.
Some residents were forced to jump from second-floor balconies to escape the flames, witnesses say. A woman said she had to drop her 13-month-old baby to safety to a neighbor, who caught the child, KHOU's Drew Karedes reported.
