Mother of 2-year-old girl found in ravine charged with killing her

PITTSBURGH - The mother of a 2-year-old girl found dead in a western Pennsylvania ravine last month has been charged with her murder.

Online court records show Allegheny County police obtained an arrest warrant Tuesday for Adriene Williams, of Wilkinsburg, on charges of criminal homicide, endangering the welfare of a child, tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse.

The Associated Press could not immediately locate the 26-year-old woman for comment and it wasn't immediately clear whether she was in custody.

Her 2-year-old daughter, Adrionna, was discovered dead in a neighboring suburb, Swissvale, about 40 minutes after her family reported the girl missing June 14.

The suspect had pleaded on Facebook and joined marchers several days later who called for "justice" and any leads in the case.
