Mom, daughter face jail time over Burger King coupon fight

MILWAUKEE -- A Milwaukee woman and her daughter are facing jail time after being accused in the attack of a Burger King employee who wouldn't let the mother use 12 coupons on one meal.

WISN-TV reports Thursday that 41-year-old Latonia Howell and her 23-year-old daughter Jasmeika Simon have been charged with physically abusing a child.

Police say Howell got angry Feb. 27 when the 16-year-old cashier wouldn't let her use all of the coupons and went and got her daughter. According to a criminal complaint, Simon told police she jumped the teen for disrespecting Howell.

The teen ended up with a swollen eye and a headache.

Howell and Simon face six years in jail and $10,000 in fines.

A message for Howell's attorney wasn't returned. Simon's lawyer, Matt Last, declined comment.
