Wash. mom charged in toddler's meth overdose death

TACOMA, Wash. - A Washington State woman has been charged with manslaughter in the 2012 meth overdose death of her 2-year-old son.

Alyia Iverson, 26, pleaded not guilty at her arraignment Wednesday in Pierce County Superior Court. She is being held at the Pierce County jail. She is being held on $250,000 bail.

Prosecutors say the woman's 2-year-old son had ingested enough methamphetamine to kill an adult when his mother noticed he wasn't breathing in December 2012.

The News Tribune reports that Court Commissioner Meagan Foley ordered Iverson to stay away from children should she make bail.
