Body found as murder probe launched in missing co-workers case
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte authorities believe two missing teenagers are now in Mexico after possibly killing a missing woman.
News outlets report 19-year-old Ahmia Feaster, a 17-year-old boy and 23-year-old Tru Quan Le disappeared last week and have been the targets of a massive search since. Wednesday afternoon, police found a body as they searched a northeast Charlotte property for Le, but wouldn’t say whether they believe the body is the missing woman or what prompted them to search at the location, reports CBS affiliate WBTV.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police Maj. Cam Selvey said Tuesday that Feaster and the 17-year-old have been named in warrants charging them with a possession of a stolen vehicle charge after Le’s car was recovered in Phoenix.
Selvey says Castillo and the 17-year-old are believed to have crossed into Mexico. Selvey has said investigators are concerned for Le’s safety.
Authorities say the three knew each other from working at a local restaurant.
An SUV belonging to Feaster was discovered Saturday in Charlotte.
Selvey says the FBI is also investigating.
