Meat thief sought in Minnesota

PRIOR LAKE, Minn. -- Police say nearly $5,000 worth of frozen meat and seafood was stolen from a padlocked truck in Prior Lake, Minn.

CBS Minnesota reports that officers are trying to determine if the meat, which was taken from Halverson's Steaks on Aug. 19, is being used for personal consumption or for sale on the black market.

Company official John Schechter told the station that the thieves allegedly stole t-bone steaks, porter house filet steaks, rib-eyes, burgers and lobster.

"It was the jackpot, it was the jackpot for them. They got some good stuff," Schechter said.

Anyone with information on the theft is asked to call the Prior Lake Police Department at (952) 440-3555.
