Minneapolis man charged with killing wife, stepdaughter

MINNEAPOLIS -- A Minneapolis man is charged with fatally shooting his wife and her 15-year-old daughter last Friday.

Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman says 50-year-old Gonzalo Galvan is charged with two counts of first-degree premeditated murder.

Authorities say Galvan called 911 after the shootings. Police arrived at the south Minneapolis home just after 5 p.m. Friday and found both victims on the floor.

Galvan's wife had multiple gunshots to her head. Her daughter was shot in her head and body.

The prosecutor's office says the 7-year-old son of Galvan and his wife witnessed the shootings. The boy was not injured and is in the care of Hennepin County.

Galvan was arrested at the scene. Prosecutors planned to ask for $2 million bail.
