Milwaukee's "lion-like" animal spotted again

Yet again, Milwaukee residents have spotted a "lion-like" creature wandering their city.

Late Saturday, Milwaukee police rushed to the area around 30th and Fairmount after a confirmed sighting, reports CBS affiliate WDJT in Milwaukee.

While police and wildlife officials were able to contain the area, the animal was not found.

The DNR says a mountain lion, or panther, is one of three wild cats native to the state.

William Nolen, who was among the first to see the reported lion last week, told CBS affiliate WDJT in Milwaukee: "He was in the bushes and made a dart for it going west. We're close to the river so we do see deer, fox, all that type of stuff a lot of times, but not a lion though. This is just unusual."

The sightings have led to at least one tragedy so far. A pit bull wandering the streets was shot (but survived) after a man mistook him for the lion.
