Mick Jagger begins making funeral arrangements for L'Wren Scott

Mick Jagger has started making funeral arrangements for fashion designer and celebrity stylist L'Wren Scott, his longtime girlfriend.

His representative said in a statement Thursday that Jagger is in Los Angeles to be with his daughters Karis, Elizabeth, Georgia May and Jade, and his son, James.

Scott died Monday at age 49. The New York City medical examiner's office has ruled her death was a suicide.

The statement asked for privacy for Jagger and his family "during this very difficult time."

Scott had been Jagger's companion since 2001. The Rolling Stones frontman paid tribute to his girlfriend Tuesday on his Facebook page writing, "I will never forget her."

"I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way. We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves. She had great presence and her talent was much admired, not least by me."

The rockers canceled their seven-date tour of Australia and New Zealand after Scott's death. Jagger's bandmates have offered their support throughout the week.
