Memphis, Tenn. teen shot dead at LA Fitness gym

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Police are searching for two males wanted for allegedly gunning down a teen at a popular fitness gym, according to CBS affiliate WREG.

Vicdarrius Pollard, a recent high school graduate, was fatally shot Friday inside the LA Fitness off Winchester near Bill Morris Parkway. Witnesses told the station the suspected shooters were upset over a basketball game.

Police say the two suspects allegedly went out to the parking lot, grabbed a gun and then went back inside and opened fire. The suspects then ran off, reports WREG.

Pollard had just graduated from Kirby High and was getting ready to start Lane College next month.

"He was a leader amongst all of his friends. He guided them even when they wanted to skip class and things like that. He was the one who was like, 'Get it together," high school teacher David Burnett told the station.

Anyone with information that could help police is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH.
