Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas call it quits

Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas are calling it quits after 18 years of marriage.

TMZ reports that Griffith, 56, filed for divorce Friday from Banderas, 53, citing irreconcilable differences. According to documents obtained by the website, Griffith is asking for spousal support from Banderas, along with joint legal custody of their daughter, Stella, who turns 18 in September.

Source say the split is amicable.

Griffith stepped out Thursday night in Hollywood, Calif., at an American Film Institute tribute ceremony celebrating Jane Fonda.

Griffith and Banderas were seen on the big screen together in the 1995 romantic comedy "Two Much."

Griffith was previously married to Don Johnson and Steve Bauer. Banderas was married to Spanish actress Ana Leza for one year.
