"Maury Story": Couple due on TV show arrested for hotel fight
NORWALK, Conn. - A Chicago couple scheduled to be guests on televison's "The Maury Show" was arrested at a Connecticut hotel, after a fight between them when the woman allegedly learned her boyfriend had an affair with her mother.
Norwalk police told The Hour newspaper that John Coley, 46, and Shantae McGhee-Brown, 25, were charged with disorderly conduct and criminal mischief at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Norwalk on Tuesday night. McGhee-Brown was also charged with interfering with police.
McGhee-Brown reportedly told police she and Coley traveled to Connecticut to be on Maury Povich's daytime talk show in neighboring Stamford. Show officials say the couple was scheduled to be at a show taping Wednesday.
McGhee-Brown and Coley were each held on $100,000 bail and were expected to appear in state court Wednesday.
