Manhunt on after multiple people found dead in Fla. home

NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. - Authorities say multiple people were found dead after shots were reported fired in a Tampa Bay-area neighborhood.

Pasco County Sheriff's Office spokesman Eddie Daniels Jr. says deputies found "multiple bodies" in a New Port Richey mobile home early Monday. The deputies were responding to a call about shots fired in the area.

Sheriff Chris Nocco says "drugs may be involved in this case and it may be a targeted hit."

Daniels says the victims "suffered significant injuries," but a medical examiner still had to determine what caused their deaths. Authorities have not said how many victims were found in the home.

Roads near the mobile home were closed pending the investigation. No arrests have been made and authorities were urging the suspect or suspects to turn themselves in, reports CBS affiliate WTSP.

Nocco said the victims' identities will be released after their families are notified.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the Pasco County Sheriff's Office at 1-800-706-2488.
