Manager at Wash. transitional home arrested on murder charges

EVERETT, Wash. -- Everett police say they've arrested a 40-year-old man on murder charges after investigating a suspicious death.

Police said Friday that Kenny Tate has been booked into the Snohomish County Jail on murder, rape and robbery charges.

Police say they were called to a transitional home on Wednesday and found a man dead in the manager's room. No drugs are allowed at the home, but police found drug paraphernalia at the site.

Tate turned himself in on Thursday. Police say Tate said he was house manager and was attracted to the male victim. Police say Tate tried to manipulate the victim with drugs in order to instigate sexual relations. When the victim refused, they fought. The victim was found with a belt around his neck.

Police didn't release the victim's name.
