Man with rifle, ammunition arrested near White House

The U.S. Secret Service on Wednesday afternoon arrested a man near the White House after finding a .30-30 rifle and ammunition in the trunk of his car.

Secret Service acting director apologizes for mistakes

R.J. Renae Kapheim, a 41-year-old from Davenport, Iowa, approached a Secret Service checkpoint at the White House, according to an agency spokesman, and said that someone told him to go to the White House.

After further questioning, Secret Service accompanied Kapheim to his nearby car and found the rifle and ammunition. He was arrested for the possession of a firearm.
