Man rides stolen electric shopping cart to probation check

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- An Albuquerque man went to a meeting with his probation officer by driving a stolen electric shopping cart, court papers say.

So now he's in some more trouble.

KOAT-TV reports documents say that when 18-year-old Michael Johnson showed up, naturally the probation officer asked where he got the electric cart, and that Johnson admitted taking it from a local Walmart.

Whereupon he was arrested and charged with larceny and receiving stolen property. Not to mention that the arrest violated his probation in a previous case. He was ordered held on a $500 bond.

Albuquerque police say Johnson's chosen means of transportation - the electric Walmart cart - is worth more than $1,800.
