Man charged in murder at Kentucky Red Roof Inn

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Police say a man used a choke hold to kill another man on Nov. 13, at a hotel in Kentucky, reports CBS affiliate WLKY.

William Mattingly, 40, is charged with murder and attempted murder. Police say he first killed the victim, Thomas Grismer, and then put a second person into a choke hold.

He did not release the second victim until police officers intervened, according to the Lousiville Metropolitan Police Department.

The second victim survived, according to police.
