Man charged in ex-girlfriend's slaying in Leesburg, Virginia

LEESBURG, Va. --Police say a Virginia man has been charged with murder in the fatal shooting of his ex-girlfriend in Leesburg.

Leesburg police spokesman Lt. Jeff Dube says 30-year-old Darrick Lewis was charged early Sunday morning after being taken into custody Saturday night. He's been charged in the slaying of 34-year-old Christina Fisher.

Dube says the slaying was domestic-related. He says that while the couple had broken up, they had two children together, and Fisher had taken out a protective order against Davis.

Fisher was shot around 6 p.m. Saturday. She was flown to a hospital, where she died. Lewis was arrested later at his home in Middleburg. He's being held without bond. Court records do not indicate whether he has an attorney.
