Man arrested after hijacking luggage tug on Orlando airport runway

A Canadian citizen was arrested for allegedly hijacking a luggage tug and driving across a runway at Orlando International Airport, Orlando police said.

CBS affiliate WKMG reports that officials said the unidentified man was not allowed to board his flight headed to Canada via Chicago because he was acting belligerent.

The man then allegedly pushed his way past gate staff, assaulted a Greater Orlando Aviation Authority employee and eventually reached the tarmac, officials said.

Police say the man stole a luggage tug and rode it across an active runway before being arrested.

No other details were immediately available.
