Louis Tomlinson of One Direction welcomes baby boy

Louis Tomlinson of One Direction is a new dad.

Tomlinson and his friend, Briana Jungwirth, welcomed a baby boy on Thursday in Los Angeles, reports People.

The singer, 24, and Jungwirth briefly dated in May, though lately he has been linked to Danielle Campbell. Tomlinson and Jungwirth, who is a hairstylist, are good friends.

The One Direction star was reportedly very excited to be a dad, and flew out to Los Angeles for Jungwirth's ultrasounds while he was on tour with One Direction. A source told People that Tomlinson plans to be a "hands-on dad."

It's been a busy time for all of the members of One Direction. Zayn Malik left last year and the band announced that they were taking a brief hiatus. Recently, there have been conflicting reports about whether or not the band will split for good.
