Woman involved in bizarre "bacon-throwing" incident missing

ASHLAND, Mass. -- A woman involved in a bizarre "bacon-throwing" incident at a police station outside Boston last year has been reported missing, according to police.

Lindsey McNamara, 24, was last seen having dinner with acquaintances at the Natick Mall Feb. 14, Lt. Rich Briggs, a spokesman for the Ashland, Mass. police department, told 48 Hours' Crimesider. Police don't have anything to indicate foul play, but they're actively investigating the disappearance, Briggs said.

Charges were recently dismissed against McNamara after she allegedly smeared raw bacon and sausage near the dispatch window at a police station in Framingham last December, reports CBS Boston. The Ashland woman reportedly told an officer she did it because "God told me to go feed the pigs," the Boston Herald reported.

The story garnered national headlines after surveillance video of the bizarre incident went viral.

A judge on Thursday dismissed a malicious destruction of property charge against McNamara and ordered her to pay court costs of $150 on a disorderly conduct charge, reports CBS Boston.

Following the incident, McNamara's mother told the station her daughter is "going through a difficult time right now" and said that "she needs help." McNamara had been ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.

McNamara was last seen in the area of a P.F. Chang's restaurant in Natick, where her cell phone also pinged, according to a statement posted on the Ashland Police Facebook page. Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call police at 508-881-1212.
