Lightning strikes N.J. police cars with troopers inside

MIDDLE TOWNSHIP, N.J. --Lightning struck two New Jersey State Police cruisers while two troopers sat inside of them Tuesday, officials said.

CBS New York reported the troopers were sitting in the separate vehicles at a construction site on the Garden State Parkway in Middle Township, N.J., when the lightning hit them. Neither trooper was seriously injured, but one was taken to a hospital for observation.

Police said the other trooper did not require medical attention.
