5 frat members charged with murder in NYC college hazing death

POCONO PINES, Pa.-- Five suspects have been charged with murder in the 2013 hazing death of a New York City college student.

Pocono Mountain Regional Police Chief Chris Wagner announced the charges Wednesday. The five suspects are the last of 37 suspects to be charged in Chun "Michael" Deng's death. The other suspects face lesser charges, including hazing.

Police say fraternity members at Baruch College in New York City physically abused Deng during a hazing ritual in Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains and then tried to cover it up.

The five suspects facing third-degree murder charges are due in a Pennsylvania courtroom Thursday for arraignment. They're all from Queens in New York City.

An attorney for 22-year-old suspect Raymond Lam called Deng's death a "tragedy beyond words" but said his client is innocent.

The Pi Delta Psi fraternity is also charged with murder.
