Lakers' player has nearly $100K stolen from home during game

LOS ANGELES - Los Angeles Lakers guard Nick Young's house was burglarized as he played in a game at the Staples Center in L.A. against the Orlando Magic on Sunday night, reports CBS Los Angeles.

The burglary claimed nearly $100,000 worth of goods from the home, including jewelry, luggage, clothes and shoes, according to Young.

Young said that he called police at 2 a.m. after returning home from the Lakers' 103-94 win over Orlando, in which the guard scored 26 points off the bench.

When Young returned home after the game, he found broken glass and drawers open, according to reports.

But the basketball player told CBS Los Angeles that it could have been much worse.

"I was just more happy that nobody was in the house, because it probably could have (gone) wrong, I think, if my son had been in the house, or something," Young told the station.

Young is not the first resident in the neighborhood to be burglarized, according to CBS Los Angeles.

"There were some houses that had been broken into," neighbor Nina Kellogg said. "It's highly possible, if people knew where he lived, they certainly knew where he was; he was playing basketball, he wasn't going to be home."
