King Kong isn't the only monster in the final “Kong: Skull Island” trailer

Audiences finally get a good look at the new, super-sized King Kong in the final trailer for “Kong: Skull Island,” released Thursday.

The best look so far at the monster-sized reboot from director Jordan Vogt-Roberts shows Samuel L. Jackson, Tom Hiddleston and Brie Larson heading off for a mysterious island in the Pacific along with a platoon of soldiers -- only to be intercepted by the most famous great ape in film history.

The Kong of “Skull Island” is much bigger, much scarier and much more annoyed by intruders than in previous versions -- the most recently being Peter Jackson’s take on the tale in 2005, starring Naomi Watts and a motion-captured Andy Serkis.

The new trailer also gives audiences their first look at John C. Reilly’s mysterious, eccentric as-yet-unnamed character -- who has apparently been on the island for a while and will provide some comic relief amidst all the running and screaming.

“Kong: Skull Island” will hit theaters March 10, 2017.
