Kids left on Fla. sidewalk after thief steals mom's car

ORLANDO, Fla. - A carjacker stole a vehicle in Orlando, Fla. with two children, ages 1 and 3, inside but later abandoned the children on a sidewalk, reports CBS affiliate WKMG.

Police say the mother of the children pulled her car into the parking lot of a hotel in Orlando around 8 p.m. Sunday to check room availability. She left the children in the car while she went inside and when she returned she reportedly found her car had been stolen and the children were gone.

In the subsequent search for the children and the vehicle, an officer discovered the children later Sunday on a sidewalk while still in their car seats, according to the station.

The children were not injured. Both were reunited with their mother.

The stolen vehicle has not been located and no arrests have been made in the case.
