Khloe Kardashian: Lamar Odom doesn't know why he has brain injury

Khloe Kardashian opens up about Lamar Odom during her visit to "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," airing on Monday.

The "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star revealed that Odom, who was hospitalized last month, is aware that he has brain damage but he's not sure why.

"We tell him he had a brain injury, but I can't tell him about how that brain injury was caused because it will set him back," Kardashian said.

Kardashian said it's going to be a long road to recovery for the former NBA star, who was found unconscious at a Nevada brothel last month.

"He's really confused a lot so we have to remind him," she continued. "Every day is different."

Kardashian says Odom is relearning how to walk, talk and feed himself, noting that some days he knows his age, for example. Other days he doesn't.

Kardashian, 31, and Odom, 36, filed for divorce in late 2013, but the divorce hadn't been finalized by the time of Odom's hospitalization. Kardashian has decided to put the divorce on hold for now.

"I'm there helping him and I love him and I've always loved him," Kardashian said. "And that will never change. And I just feel like it's a really insensitive thing to fast-forward a divorce."

The reality star, who is currently dating James Harden, admitted she's in a "very unique situation."

"Yeah, he's fine with it. I mean, we have to communicate a lot. And he's really supportive and great," she said about Harden.

Kardashian has been on a previously scheduled book tour. She told DeGeneres that although the timing isn't ideal, she's honoring her commitments.
