Kesha fans protest Sony headquarters in New York

Fans stood outside Sony headquarters in New York City on Friday to rally for pop star Kesha.

The singer has been trying to break her contract with her record label, but she lost a preliminary injunction to end her relationship with Sony on Feb. 19. Kesha alleges that her producer at Sony, Dr. Luke, sexually assaulted and abused her.

Protesters held signs that said, "Sony supports rape" and "Kesha deserves freedom."

"...I think that when a woman's voice is silenced, we should all step up and be a voice for her because I think that happens far too often," Jesse Losch, of Manhattan, told WCBS 880's Marla Diamond.

The singer has received support from other musicians like Taylor Swift, who gave her $250,000 for legal fees, Kelly Clarkson, Adele and Lady Gaga.

On Wednesday, Kesha thanked her fans for their support on Instagram.
