Katherine Heigl addresses rumors she's "very rude"

Katherine Heigl admits she's made some mistakes, but doesn't think she's a rude person.

While taking part in a Facebook Q&A to promote her new TV series "State of Affairs," the former "Grey's Anatomy" actress faced a question about the rumors that she is "very rude."

"I've heard those [rumors] too...honestly I don't think I am," Heigl responded.

"Nothing makes me more uncomfortable than confrontation or hurting someone's feelings and I would never, ever actively do so on purpose," she continued. "Of course just like any human being I've made mistakes and unwittingly or carelessly spoken or acted but I always try to make any wrong right. That doesn't mean I won't stand up for myself by drawing boundaries and asking to be treated kindly and respectfully but I don't do that with any rude or unkind intentions just with the same strength and honesty I think every one of us is entitled to."

Her response comes a few weeks after "Grey's" creator Shonda Rhimes took a dig at Heigl and her on-set behavior. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter about how production on her hit show "Scandal" runs smoothly and the cast is tight knit, she said, "There are no Heigls in this situation." Rhimes later added, "I don't put up with b------- or nasty people. I don't have time for it."

Heigl's "State of Affairs" premieres Nov. 17 at 10 p.m. ET on NBC. You can see more from her Facebook Q&A here.
