Judge denies bail for Pa. man accused of killing girlfriend

PITTSBURGH -- A Pennsylvania man who is accused of killing his girlfriend and then burying a refrigerator with her body hidden inside was denied bail, reports CBS Pittsburgh.

On Wednesday. the judge called 57-year-old George Biegenwald a predator of women, according to the station. He did not, however, reject the possibility of a bond hearing at a later date.

The suspect had been ordered to stand trial last week on charges related to the death of his girlfriend, Donna See.

CBS Pittsburgh previously reported that See had been missing since Aug. 14, when the alleged confrontation with Biegenwald happened. Police said See, 50, struck her head during the fight, and Biegwenwald left her to bleed to death in a bathtub in his Shaler Township, Pa., home.

He then allegedly stuffed her body in a basement refrigerator, before burying her in his back yard, using bleach to ward off animals.

According to CBS Pittsburgh, Biegenwald claims the victim attacked him during a fight and she hit her head on a dresser during the struggle.

The station reported that investigators had gone back to the suspect's house on Tuesday to search for other bodies, but found none.
