Jodi Arias ordered to pay back victim's family

PHOENIX - A judge has ordered convicted murderer Jodi Arias to pay about $30,000 in restitution to the victim's family.

Judge Sherry Stephens ordered Arias on Monday to pay family members of her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander for trial expenses such as travel and lodging.

Alexander's family initially asked for about $100,000 in restitution, but Arias' attorney Jennifer Willmott says the family didn't receive the full amount because they didn't turn in all the necessary receipts.

Willmott says Arias most likely won't be able to make enough money in prison to pay back the family.

Arias was convicted of murdering Alexander in 2013 and sentenced to life in prison in April.
