Will Kathy Griffin be the next "Fashion Police" host?

The E! Network is looking for a worthy successor to Joan Rivers on "Fashion Police."

The broadcaster released a statement saying the show will continue in the wake of Joan Rivers' death, returning to television in January for the 2015 Golden Globes, with Melissa Rivers staying on as producer.

So is Kathy Griffin the next in line to join hosts Giuliana Rancic, Kelly Osbourne and George Kotsiopoulos?

The Hollywood Reporter claimed Wednesday that a "shortlist of replacements has been drawn up, with female and male comedians in the mix," and that "one name in serious contention is Kathy Griffin."

But Griffin took to Twitter to explain that no one has reached out to her yet.

During a Sept. 15 interview with Larry King, Griffin shot down a rumor claiming she was gunning for the position as Rivers' health declined. She told King, "It's not true... I thought I'd heard it all, but that hurts because it's as far from the truth as you can get. I would never take Joan's job."
