Jim Carrey's girlfriend Cathriona White dies in apparent suicide

Jim Carrey's on-again, off-again girlfriend Cathriona White has died in an apparent suicide. The 28-year-old was found by authorities on Monday night at her Sherman Oaks, California, home.

White's friend found her at her home and then called 911. Authorities told ET that White may have died from an overdose. She was found next to pills.

Officials are still investigating her cause of death, but will likely proceed with an autopsy.

Police confirm that White left a note.

White also tweeted on Sept. 24, the day of the breakup, "Signing off Twitter, I hope I have been a light to my nearest and dearest. to yo all."

Carrey, 52, and White met in 2012 and briefly dated. The two rekindled their romance in May of this year.
