Jamie Foxx meets dad of man he saved
Jamie Foxx shared a heartwarming photo of himself with Brad Kyle, the father of the man whose life Foxx saved on Monday.
Foxx pulled Brett Kyle, 32, out of his white 2007 Toyota Tacoma that had gone off the roadway and flipped over on Monday night. The accident happened in front of Foxx's Hidden Valley mansion, and the actor managed to save Kyle from the burning truck seconds before it was fully engulfed in flames.
Foxx wrote on Tuesday night: "Met the father of the young man from last night today. This is all that matters. That a man, a son, a brother's life was spared last night. God had his arms wrapped around all of us...No heroes...Just happy fathers."
In the photo, Foxx and Brad are hugging, and Brad appears to be in tears.
Foxx told CBS Los Angeles on Tuesday, "I don't look at it as heroic. I just look at it as, you know, you just had to do something. And it all worked out."
Brad told CBS Los Angeles how grateful he was to Foxx when he saw footage of the accident.
"I just kept watching it [security video] and going my God, my God, he didn't have to do a thing," he said. "I think we all hope that we can do something when the time is there. But the question is do we act or do we fear our own lives, and he did not."
Foxx was able to save Brett with the help of an EMT who stopped his car when he saw the accident. The EMT was able to use scissors to cut Brett's seat belt while Foxx pulled him out of the vehicle.
Brett was rushed after the accident for head, chest and neck injuries. He was also arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
