Jamie Dornan says "Fifty Shades of Grey" isn't misogynistic

For Jamie Dornan, "Fifty Shades of Grey" is not all whips and spankings. In fact, the actor told Elle U.K. he doesn't think the book is misogynistic.

"I can understand why people say tying a woman up and spanking her is misogynistic. But actually, more men are submissives than women. Very powerful men," Dornan said. "It's a far bigger scene than I imagined: in pretty much any city in the world that you could name, people want to get spanked with a paddle with studs on it."

Dornan also thinks people should focus on the love story component of "Fifty Shades" instead of harping on its kinky side.

"The love story is more important than the BDSM aspect," he said. "I mean, we are going to tell a love story, you know, it can't just be what happens in the Red Room, that's not a film. There's so much more going on than that."

"Fifty Shades of Grey" hits theaters on Feb. 13.

But what do you think, is the book misogynistic or just harmless fun?
