Police: Man confesses to killing ex-teacher, son they had together

NEW YORK — Police have charged a New York City man for killing his former teacher and the 4-year-old son they had together, reports CBS New York.

Authorities say Isaac Duran confessed to drowning his son Miguel Barahona in a bathtub and strangling Felicia Barahona, who was found dead in her apartment Monday with an electrical cord around her neck.

Felicia Barahona was fired from her job as a science teacher at a Bronx high school for having a sexual relationship with Duran, who was 18 at the time.

Duran allegedly told police he “didn’t like the way she was raising the child,” and said that Barahona was “interfering” in his relationship with his new girlfriend.

Authorities say Duran has no history of psychological issues.

Duran has been charged with murder. It is not clear if he has obtained an attorney yet.
