Is Lucy Lawless joining Marvel's "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" for season 2?

According to TVGuide.com, she is. The site has learned that the former "Xena" star has signed on for the ABC show.

Lawless is no stranger TV; she has had roles on "Parks an Recreation," "Spartacus: Gods of the Arena" and "Battlestar Galactica." She's also made appearances on "CSI: Miami," "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and "The L Word."

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." stars Clark Gregg, Ming-Na Wen, Brett Dalton, Elizabeth Henstridge and Chloe Bennet.

Season 2 of the series kicks off Sept. 23 at 9 p.m. ET.
