Is a female version of "21 Jump Street" in the works?

Is Hollywood out of ideas?

There's already an all-gal version of "Ghostbusters" happening, but now The Hollywood Reporter says the "21 Jump Street" franchise is expanding to include an female-centric installment.

THR says Sony Pictures is behind it, along with "Broad City" writers Lucia Aniello and Paul W. Downs. Sony is also doing the female-led "Ghostbusters," starring Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones. That flick has a summer 2016 release date.

"21 Jump Street" started out as an '80s television show with Johnny Depp, and has since spawned off into two feature films, starring Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum.

Tell us: What do you think about a female-centric "21 Jump Street"?
