Inmates hurt in fight at Los Angeles jail

LOS ANGELES -- At least four inmates were hurt in a fight Wednesday afternoon at the Men's Central Jail complex in downtown Los Angeles, fire officials said.

CBS Los Angeles reported that as many as 10 inmates was stabbed during the altercation, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Images from the station's news helicopter showed firefighters setting up a triage area outside the facility.

The LAFD said four patients were transported to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

The huge multi-story jail complex, which was placed on lockdown along with the nearby Twin Towers Jail, houses thousands of prisoners.

This is a developing story.
