ID theft suspect to bounty hunter: "A gal's gotta live"
DENVER - After a year-long chase, a bounty hunter has captured the suspected leader of an identity theft ring, reports CBS Denver.
Selina Davison, a 45-year-old woman suspected of running a ring that bilked 65 victims out of thousands of dollars, was captured Tuesday July 22 in a Denver, Colo. parking lot, according to the station.
Davison had reportedly disappeared after posting bond in May 2013.
When the bounty hunter, William Ellenburg, cuffed her last week, he said she told him: "A gal's gotta live."
Davison, who was reportedly wearing a wig when she was captured, tried to escape the bounty hunter, but failed and instead backed into another car, the station reported.
The bounty hunter said he's been a victim of identity theft and that capturing Davison is the best reward.
Ellenburg reportedly said that when he arrested Davison, he found two stolen IDs, one fake ID, three ID makers and more than 90 fake checks in her car.
Davison faces felony racketeering charges. Her alleged partner in crime, Nathan Lees, has already been sentenced to 16 years in prison, according to CBS Denver.
